In 2024, Google released their “AI overview” feature. This feature answers questions based on people’s search queries.

We saw an example of AI overview earlier, when it helped solve a technical problem:

Back in 2024, the same AI made some big mistakes. It told people to use non-toxic glue while making pizza, as well as to eat “a rock a day” to stay healthy.

It makes these mistakes less often now, but it might still give dangerous instructions. 

Always verify what AI says. Don’t blindly trust it just because it seems plausible.
