Most organisations ask you to lock your computer when you leave it alone.

 

There are good reasons for this, but it can be annoying having to log out every time you step away for a few seconds.

 

Luckily, there’s an easier way.

On a Windows PC, you can hold the Windows key down while pressing L. The Windows key is the one circled in the picture above.

 

Hold the Windows key, and then press L. This will lock your computer without needing to log out or save your work.

To remember this combination, think of it as Locking a Window.

 

You hold the Window button, then press L (for Lock).
