Unlike Lastpass, KeepassXC doesn’t store your password database online. It’s up to you to keep the password database safe.

This means that if you lose your password database, your passwords could be gone forever.

We’ll find some safe ways of storing your password database later. In the meantime, let’s get to work on creating it.

Here is the link to download KeepassXC. If you’re on your own computer, then click that link and download it. 

When the download finishes, click on the file you’ve downloaded. It should be called something like, “KeepassXC-2.7.6-Win64.msi”.

When you click the file, you might get a warning like this:

The exact warning might look different for you. Whatever it looks like, don’t worry: KeepassXC is completely safe.

Click “OK” to continue and begin installing KeepassXC.

You should see a window like this one. Click the ‘next’ button, accept the terms and conditions, and install the programme.

You might also want to create a desktop shortcut for easy access to it.
