There are many ways of securing our accounts with more than just a password. Some are better than others.
Using any kind of 2FA is far better than having none at all. But which types are the best?

We can have a code texted to us when we try and log in to our account from a new computer.
However, a determined hacker can get around this by convincing our phone company to give them control of our mobile number.
This is called “SIM-swapping”. It’s surprisingly easy and common.
This also applies to apps which use our phone numbers to let us log in. If someone SIM-swaps us, those accounts could be gone forever.
